Anne Smyers

Anne Smyers creates bold colorful fiber art inspired by the vast array of commercially available fabrics on the market today. She is particularly drawn to florals which she uses to create fanciful, abstract “floral landscapes.” She also draws much of her inspiration from Traditional Chinese Five-Element Theory as understood through her long association with tai chi and acupuncture.

Anne’s work has hung in solo and group shows from her home town of Reston, Virginia to the International Quilt Festival in Houston, and she has been a featured artist in Elan Magazine. A self-taught artist, she began quilting in 2007 and continues to explore her creativity and refine her skills through memberships in national quilting art associations and local artist classes.
