I am a Chartered Librarian. After qualifying in 1979 I worked principally in education in Inner London, first in Secondary schools and then in a 6thForm college, where I became the Library Manager. In that role, I was responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the library, from creating the staffing rotas to managing the budgets and 8 other library staff.
I have been a member of CILIP, The Library, and Information Association, since qualifying in 1979. While still a school Librarian, I started studying part-time with the Open University and in 2009 gained an honours degree in Information Technology and Computing.
I started t'ai chi with the school in the 1980's and stopped after five years when I became pregnant. I restarted tai chi in 2011 and became an apprentice in 2015 following my retirement.
I enjoy teaching t'ai chi and find that the more I teach the better my own practice becomes. I am currently trying to learn the sword form.
