Amsterdam Winter Training 2020
By Vanessa Costigan
We had a wonderful winter training in Amsterdam. Thank you to Jonathan Stow and Gerrie Sporken who led the training and to all the others who taught as well.
The 8th level worked together January 2-4 and welcomed two new members, Danyal Sattar and Vanessa Costigan. Apprentices from all over Europe and the States worked together from January 3rd to 10th. We welcomed six new B1 apprentices from the Netherlands, UK and Austria. Congratulations to all with thanks to Koen and Joop who worked with the group.
Other apprenticeships included B2, B3, Fun, PH1, PH2, PH3 & IFC.
Together we began each afternoon with the Water Tuning, followed by PH, Sword & Fencing Class. One class which created quite a buzz was, ‘The meaning of the Tai Chi Moves,’ which looked at the application of moves in the form. Other highlights included a Hall of Happiness with local students invited.
The Stichting offered a catered lunch option everyday, plus two dinners including party night. This brought about a great sense of community, with many discussions around the table.
The team in Amsterdam provided a great experience, from website registration, scheduling, lunches, and fun theatre and party. The training flowed smoothly from beginning to end.
Our thanks to all 40 who attended. We look forward to next time.
