Dr. Mark Walcutt began his odyssey of becoming a doctor of Chiropractic while partaking in a 40-day mind/body training with the Arica Institute in New York City in 1972. In the course of the training he was introduce to a self-massage method called Chua-Ka®. This experience led him to investigate and study other methods of massage, as well as Polarity Therapy. In 1975 he studied Homeopathy with Dr. David Cleveland, a naturapath in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Walcutt subsequently studied an alternative method of nutritional counseling known as the Reems Method. He and his wife Roberta moved to New York and established a nutritional counseling service. They also studied T’ai Chi Chuan with the School of T’ai Chi Chuan in New York and eventually became apprentices with the School. Dr. Walcutt became interested in Chiropractic when he began receiving adjustments for a work-related injury. He had such amazing results through the excellent care of Dr. Louis Savas that he decided to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa Dr. Walcutt and his wife graduated from Palmer in 1984, and then stayed on to work as clinical teaching residents for one year. The Walcutts moved to Cape Cod in 1985 and established Lewis Bay Chiropractic Center, where they have successfully practiced for 30 years.
